I know everyone doesn't sew. But making a gift for someone is nice too. How can you reconcile this dilemma?The Modern Hive has put together a crayon roll tutorial. The catch is that you don't have to start it from scratch! Use a simple placemat.

Oh wow, thanks for pointing me to this...I actually do sew, but I was just trying to figure out how to put together an "art" kit for my kiddo, and "sewing" it never occurred to me. I've seen this idea before, but had forgotten about it.
What a lovely idea! I'm sure every child would love this for Christmas.
That's very cute. I've seen them also with an attached book of note paper so that the little ones can keep occupied and everything is all in one place.
