Cleaner, Leaner, Faster
April 13, 2010
There are a lot of shortcuts when it comes to sewing. I have to admit, I have not mastered them all. But if you are lucky enough to know them, you have much cleaner looking results in less time. I found some good tutorials that I thought you should know if you are interested in sewing your own garments. Some time savers. Some 'greek to me' techniques that will help you along.
Sew a blind hem. (Those invisible stitches at the bottom of your pant cuffs)
Attach buttons using a sewing machine.
Make Perfect button holes fast using a sewing machine.
Make Fabric Covered Buttons to match your garments pattern and using a kit (easier)
Sewing Zippers
Sew a set-in sleeve
Mastering these techniques will save you a lot of time but more importantly FRUSTRATION when sewing garments.
