A Frock by Friday™: Tuesday

Step 1: Take your four sleeve pieces. Overlap two of them and sew around the curved edges.

Step 2: Clip curved edges

Step 3: Turn inside out

Step 4: Iron

Step 5: Take two belt pieces. One should be your printed material the other should be your solid color material.

Step 6: Sew them, right sides together on the long sides. Using a large safety pin, pin through the short end of the solid color fabric and push the pin through the belt, turning it inside out.

Step 7: Clip the shorter ends of the belt to points. (sorry for the overexposed image)

Step 8: Fold in the pointed edge you just cut and sew closed on each end.

Step 9: Topstitch entire belt. This means just stitch along the outside edges so that the belt will stay flat.

Step 10: Take your two collar pieces and overlap them.

Step 11: Stitch them, right sides together LEAVING THE STRAIGHT EDGE UNSEWN.

Step 12: Clip corners and edges.

Step 13: Turn right side out and iron.

Step 14: I don’t have a photo for this last step because obviously I accidentally overexposed the whole shoot. But take your little belt loops and fold each in half lengthwise. Stitch on the long sides. Take a very small safety pin and turn inside out. Iron.

Done for today.

Jennifer,
The button band is not on the pattern. I just mentioned it at the end of Monday's post.

Cut out two button bands from the fabric.

They are 2.2" x 18.75 - 20.5" depending on your size.

Dear Kathleen,

question for the collar pattern you shared: wich size should I chose for a 40 sized dress? Sorry I am not familiar with the different sizes.

Do you plan to add pockets to the dress? I love pockets, I think, I will add them, just wanted to know, how you will go forward.

Thank you for your endless patience!
