1. Pin the upper back and back skirt pieces right sides together at the waist, sew.
3. Iron the top of the back over by 1/4. Iron over again by 1/4. Sew down with a narrow stitch.
If you are using knit you could either leave it raw and cut off a half an inch or if you have a serger, cut off a half and inch and serge the edge.

4. Turn Dress right side out and fold down at waist seam.
5. Beginning at the point where the two front pieces meet sew a stitch about 3/8" away from
your previous stitch making a casing where your elastic will go. Leave an opening so that you
can insert your elastic and an opening so that it can come out the other end. See video below.

6. Thread elastic through with a large safety pin.
7. Once elastic is all the way through sew ends to secure. Then sew opening shut.

Yes, with right sides together sew front sides to back sides matching seams.
I just posted a video to the post for you to get an idea of how the casing looks.
The elastic is all the way around.
You start in the front where the two breast pieces come together.
Let me try to better explain....
The stitching you made to sew the top pieces to the skirt pieces....
that's where your casing will be.
A casing is just a tunnel where your elastic will go through.
The stitching you made to sew the top pieces to the skirt pieces will be the bottom of the casing, just sew another line of stitches parallel to those. AND REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR TOP FOLDED DOWN SO THAT YOUR STITCHES GO THROUGH BOTH THE TOP AND THE SKIRT.

Yes, it is knit. I loved it too so I bought when I saw it even though I didn't have any use for it at the time. Actually I bought it at JoAnn's. Perhaps you can find it there. I think it was in the discounted isle.
