At first I was all 'NO WAY'. Fast forward three months and hundreds of lookbook poses later and I'm starting to see the appeal. And can I say, really comfy.
So I made one. And I love it!
A nice way to show off the legs without worrying about anything hanging out that shouldn't.
I made this 'romper' with a red tweed fabric for the bodice and navy blue stretch poplin for the bottom. I also added a red piping to the front and nautical round buttons that line the sides.
To finish it off, I added a thin belt that ties around the hips.
You see that picture above? I was standing on the stone wall that led up to the foot of the bridge. Of course you can't tell from the photo but just down to my right, was a 20 foot drop.
Can you see that I am terrified? No? See the death grip I have on the bridge. That's it. Heights give me a funny feeling in my stomach.
I LOVE this bike. Brian bought it for me years ago. And I feel we've really gotten our money's worth. I used it to ride the girls around with a child's seat attached to the back.
Recently the tires refuse to inflate so I had to switch the seat to one of our newer bikes. But I knew I would someday have an outfit to wear with it.
Brian said we should call this the 'romper stomper level 1'. He bet me that I wouldn't. Remember those old Texas Instruments Speak'n'Spells with the computerized voice and the game 'number stumpers'? We couldn't stop laughing and repeating it when we got home, replacing all our words with it.
You can't tell from the photos but Brian and I bicker sometimes during our shoots. Turns out it's really hard to get the right shot and when you only have two people to handle the modeling, camera and light disc, tensions are high.

I'm loving the romper look, but I haven't found one that fits quite right. I'd love to give yours a try!
Claudia,
It's at Messiah College in Central Pennsylvania. There are actually quite a lot in this area. This one was the closest only 10 miles away.
cute romper. the one in the store aren't nearly this nice.
When I first started seeing the rompers, I too was like, "No Way." But I've come around now, and think they are cute. Which is so weird to me how my thinking has changed. You look absolutely adorable in your romper. Great job.

terilybb@aol.com
Oh, I love your romper. I don't remember the last time I wore one, but I'm sure I was under 10 years old.
But what I love even more is your bike! My husband doesn't think touring bikes are cool, but I totally disagree. I don't like mountain bikes or road bikes and I'm definitely not a bmx chick ;-) That said, I don't even own a bike right now. When the kids are older I'll get one.
Oh,I never thought a One-Piece Outfit could look so comfy and so amazing at the same time. Absolutely wonderful!
OMG!!!! I wanna rock this romper sooooo bad!

xx chie
Omg this is amazing! I wannnnnt!
the last time I wore a romper was when I was a freshman in high school for gym class. It was comfy. The romper you made is so cool looking, the fabrics and colors are fabulous.
Yeah! a romper you don't have to wear a strapless bra with. Kidding aside, I love this romper because of the 40's vibe it has. Looks like something a chorus dancer would wear in a fred and ginger movie.
gorgeous. want this so bad!
You just might have converted me. That romper is uber cute. I've always thought they look silly. Yours is definitely classy.
This is just the cutest thing! At first I was a little iffy on the romper situation, but I agree they grow on you and this one just makes you want to wear one!
this is such a cute romper sweetie! and i just love the feel of the photos! xx
I think this is pretty adorable
That is so incredible cute! The covered bridge with the red bike are just the perfect addition... you sure you wanna give this away??!
Okay... well, pick me!
I am not sure which I love more, your sense of humor or your sewing. Thanks for all the inspiration
I love the romper thing, and this one is AMAZING! You have the best eye for color and shape. I see lovely ladies wearing them out at bars a lot and they look fabulous, but I've gotta say the romper will remain a day time look for me. Who wants to get fully undressed in a bar's bathroom just to pee!
This is possibly the cutest romper ever and the only one I've seen so far that I would actually be willing to wear! I love it!
I love the Retro Style of your romper! Best for lazy summer days!
Greetings, Zuzsa
Really nice ! Love it!
how tall are you If you don't mind me asking. It looks like I am around your weight and height and want to see if this would look ok on me.
It's BEAUTIFUL. The combination of the two colors fits perfectly :)

OMG! I can't even describe just how much I love this romper. Please, please, please pick me!
As for the Texas Instruments Speak & Spell... I still have mine! I can't remember where it is, but I know it's packed away somewhere at my aunt's house. It was yellow and had it's own little case. I'm pretty sure my aunt took it away from me when I started spelling "bad words". lol
happytime...
This is so adorable! I love the colors and this is one of the few rompers that I actually love! Thanks for the giveaway, I would love to win!

This romper is amazing- Ive been hot on the heels of the romper trend for about a year now, and any of my friends I mentioned it too seemed to think that this a little too trendy to be worth doing. But, I dont care, its awesome...and I agree, your version is the best Ive seen! I want it!

I have to have this! Wow, this is adorable...one of your best! So "the Notebook" with Ally smooching up on Noah-so 1940s feel. The shots are so cute too.
I agree w/the romper fling...accept this one has it all going on! Most of the rompers I have tried on in stores are lacking a "figure". Drop waist, straight bunches of fabric and no waist. This one is killer! Great figure flattering design! I am a seamstress, but I wouldn't duplicate this...this is your amazing creation! But, did I mention, I have to have thissssss!?!?!! Awesome!
I admit. I'm a secret fan of rompers. Yours is one of the cutest I've seen though.
Love this!
wow I love this! Although rompers make me think of my baby nephew. This is so much nicer than the play suits in the shops. I hope I win.
