The camisole was dyed in a sort of ombre pattern. So after I added a white tier I also dyed a tan line into the hem of the skirt to match the top.
Voila. New $1 summer dress.

What a simple but effective idea :)!
Hmmm... [just thinking to myself] maybe this idea could be done to several camisole tops in my wardrobe - but if the tier was sewn as a seperate piece (bound at the top with bias binding) then using press-snaps/studs it could be made removable! Then you'd get both a top + a dress = double the wardrobe potential (yay!!)

I have about 3 different paper backgrounds. BUT, right now I have the orange one up.j The neat thing about the orange I've found is that you can change it to almost any color using photoshop. A green screen would work too but you'd have to get a paper one for the 'paper' look. I'm sure they have them out there but the orange one works well enough for me:)

I like this much better as a dress. I would not have bought it as a camisole. It's just not attractive, I don't think. But you made it cute!

When you said that you got your top at Community Aid thrift, I knew you had to be from Pennsylvania :) My favorite is the Community Aid on the Carlisle Pike, in Mechanicsburg/Camp Hill area. Not sure if there are any others around here :)
