It's basically a variation of the Anda Pattern that we created for A Frock by Friday and I'd like to add that Anda is the easiest of dresses to make! This pattern can be done in two hours. And if you cut multiple layers of fabric at a time you could churn enough of these out to have new frocks all week! If you change up the fabric/waistline/neckline/embellishments per dress you could have a lot of frocks that look completely different. For such a simple shape I also have to say that it is surprisingly figure flattering.
If you are just starting to sew I highly recommend beginning with the Anda pattern. And once you master the pattern I'd try altering it (ie lowering the waistline, scooping the neckline, extending the sleeves, adding pockets, belt loops, etc.) Here are a few other Anda variations I've seen.

Great timing! I was just drooling over dresses this weekend and really wanting to try something for myself {but have little sewing experience with clothing}. I'm going to check Anda out and see if I can make one this week. :)

I made the Anda with you for FBF, but found out once I had finished the dress that the pattern was too big for me! I made the smallest size and it still hung on me. Would you be willing to do a tutorial sometime on how to downsize a pattern?

Is Frock by Friday coming back this summer? I wasn't brave enough to try this past year, but I would be bound and determined this year.
I looked in my closet one day and realized that most of the dresses I gravitate toward are andas, and your tutorial (and the pattern from burdastyle) turned me into an anda-dress-making-machine. For a while there, they were all I would make/wear! Such a great, easy dress to make when the urge to buy something new comes up and there's extra fabric lying around.

I have a pair of jersey knit PJ pants from when I was about 100 pounds heavier than I am now. They obviously don't fit me anymore. But they are made from adorable fabric that I want to repurpose into a dress. Do you think this pattern would work in knit fabric like that? Thanks!
