Lily has expressed interest in having a "Christmas Dress" this year. In years past she could have cared less. I don't know what's changed but I'm not going to complain. I think she wants something that really 'dazzles'. I'm probably going to go with something gold sequiny but I saw this today and thought it looked interesting.
Sew a feather boa to a tutu dress. Perhaps white with red or vice versa. Do they make silver boas? Something like this would be awesome with a white or silver dress.
See more pics of this dress here.

Could a tradition be forming? Lucky girl! Be careful you don't end up making dresses for her when she's well into her 40's though lol ;D
Seriously though, that is a very cute frock and I can't wait to see how you get inspired from it.
What a pretty dress! Can't wait to see what you make. :)
I thought I left a comment before, but I don't see it showing up.
I bought a white feather boa for a costume for dd a couple years ago and dyed it two colors. I then put it through the washer and dryer on delicate and low heat in a mesh garment bag and it turned out great! Just thought I'd pop that idea in there. :)
ohmygosh, that dress is such girly-girl goodness! i would have LOVED that dress when i was little. in fact, i'd sorta love wearing something like that even now...
Wow I love this, one of the things I love most in the World is making dreses for my little one. I know its a precious little time now where she will wear them and keep hoping that it lasts a little longer. I've just made her 'Christmas Dress' from red taffetta and she loves it. It has beautiful red sparkly heart buttons on the back. Pop over to see if you want a peek. I made it from the Sewn with Love pattern which I reviewed on my blog also.
I tried to post before but it didn't seem to work so sorry if you end up with 2 from me. This dress is beautiful! I've just finished making my little one's Christmas dress you can see it over at my blog. I've gone for a typical little girls dress with bodice top and full skirt in red taffetta, perfect for meeting santa. It's one of my favourite things making my little one dresses whilst she's still little enough to be happy wearing them, precious. Hope you have fun making yours. I'll be popping back to see it!
This is awesome
