At the lab taking a 3-hour glucose test. Trying VERY hard NOT to throw up the lemon lime drink I just downed. I have a very high gag reflex so I'm exercising as much mind over matter as I can muster. If I throw this up I'm going to cry.
Also, was told there'd be a private room to wait in but it turns out it's just the public waiting room with uncomfortable seats for three hours. Glad I wore sweats. Hope I don't run into anyone I know. Also noticed some chocolate stains on my white shirt.
At least there's wifi.

Hang in there!
Oh dear....I am booked in for one of those in a couple of weeks!.....I was told the drink tasted like lucozade, which i quite like!......Thank the Lord for WiFi! x
Yikes! No fun! The glucose test made me really sick too and afterwards I crashed out into a several hour nap/coma. Hope you feel better!
Sorry to hear that your day is not going well. Hang in there.
Hope you feel better afterwards! Make sure you eat something with lots of protein.
I was so worried about throwing up, b/c the nurse told me if I did, they'd have to start all over again on another day!
I managed to keep down my last glucose drink until after the test, but then threw it all up in target when I ran in to grab something to eat (to prevent passing out). They are the worst. Best of luck.
I never could keep one of those down, and to this day I can't even stand the SMELL of Sprite. Why can't they just figure out the amount of sugar in a couple of glazed Krispy Kreme dooughnuts and work it out from that?? Still too sweet but much easier to keep down. I hope the rest of your day is at least pleasant after such an awful morning!
Oh goodness. Hope everything goes well. I have a pretty strong stomach and the 3 hour for my 2nd son nauseated me. To make it worse the phlebotomist had a family emergency so I had a series of nurses take over and 4 sticks turned into 17!...for four tubes of blood. 17! I hope you have better luck.
Yikes! I hated my 3 hour glucose test...my drink was orange flavored and even though I have a strong stomach I felt nauseated...
So sorry. Those are not fun! Hope you pass your test.
Three hours? Mine was only 1! That's crazy... good luck keeping that horrible stuff down.
Poor you!!
Gross! I failed my first one after an hour and a half of horribleness (I failed by--you guessed it--throwing the nasty stuff up). You can do it!
I had to that earlier this year too. Mine wasn't even flavoured, it was just sugar water. At least I did have a room to wait in and napped for a while.
When you get home, have a protein and a complex carb - whole wheat bread, etc. That'll help ease the sugar coma after. I thought I was going into shock!

lo siento!!! me dan mucho miedo los analisis te compadezco!!!
I hope you made it through!
I remember doing that! although my drink was Orange and the amount of sugar or whatever the heck you call it gave me a migraine for 3 days, ( I don't tolerate sweets well and had battled with my doctor about it) hope your are doing better and that the results were negative!
i did the 3 hour glucose test a month or so ago--i was positive for gestational diabetes :( i do not wish the same for you. i won't lie-it's hard- especaily for a vegetarian, which i am...hope you are not. i had to wait in the public waiting room too with the worse cold i've ever had. yuck! and YES thank GOD for wifi and a good book!
ugh, i ate the wrong breakfast before my 1 hour when i was pregnant with my son and had to take the 3 hour - it should honestly be illegal! horrible. i was about to pass out at the end from lack of food. i did NOT have GD. hope you made it through okay.
I hope you're feeling better today. Luckily, I didn't have to undergo that test. I don't think I could've managed it. :/
I weep for you. I had to take the test about three times during my first pregnancy because I kept throwing the damned thing up. This time, they allowed me to drink the test at home WITH ice. I ate about a pound of ice to make it worthwhile, but I kept it down, so I was happy.
I had to do the three hour test also. It sucked! Worst part was that it was completely my own fault because on the way to my one hour test I felt faint and took a bite of a banana. One. Bite. I too had a public waiting room, a mean nurse and no wifi. At one point I actually begged them to let me sit in my car so I could listen to music and sit on my heated seats. They clearly thought I was a flight risk!
