I used to wear my hair like this everyday in middle school and high school, sometimes I miss my long hair because I loved my chopsticks. A pen pal would send me three new sets every year
When my hair was super long (to my hips, even) I used hair sticks a lot. I've broken more than one trying to do something like this, but it's so pretty when it works!
I love this style, but I haven't quite been able to figure it out from the pictures. It looks different than any other chopstick bun/updo I've tried. Would you be willing to make a quick video of it? I won't mind a bit if you make it in your PJ's. :)
Oh em ... I've been sitting here staring at these pictures hoping the last steps will somehow make sense and no dice. How in the world did she do this!? I even watched the video, which does make sense, but looks nothing like the picture...

This is my favorite for when I don't have an elastic and need to get my hair out of my face. A pencil or pen will work in a pinch!
So pretty!
this is so so cute and seems pretty easy! i'll have to try it out sometime soon, but i need a cute stick!

Oooh, love it! I haven't done a stick bun since high school...may be time to revisit! :-)
Aw, I used to put up my hair with sticks as a teenager a lot, too! I think I've still got a few lying around. Time for a blast to the past? Maybe so!

Where did you get your hair stick?
Really pretty...but where does the end of your hair go? Mine sticks out stupidly and covers all of the style :P
I managed to do the secured and tight part, but it looked nothing like a bun LOL
