What a couple days I've been having. My brand new computer died last
week. Fortunately the warranty was still valid so I've patiently been
waiting for my new one to come in. It's finally came late yesterday which
is why it's taken until now to get my video going. But here it is!
Welcome to day 1 of Dirty Hair Month.

This is great! I'm so excited for this hair month because you have long thick hair just like I do. I'm going to have to go home and make a headband like this and try this style out!
Love it. Gonna go grab a headband and try it now.
Good thing about that warranty!
Pinned! I loved it, it really seems easy and will probably work well with my hair, which is also long and thick. I think if this works I will be doing it a lot in summer to keep my hair off my shoulders in a cute way, maybe with a beachy coral headband I have.
Oh, I forgot! I have a suggestion. Maybe you could edit the next videos in a way that the first frame is the finished look, so that way, if we pin the video instead of the picture, it will still be eyecandy and help the people who pinned it remember what it is when they go about they're boards in the future. I pinned the image instead of the video for this reason.
@SaraI tried but youtube picks three random images to choose from and no more. If anyone knows how to get to choose your own thumbnail please let me know! I changed the thumbnail to the closest one that looked like the finished style but they said it takes up to 6 hours to show up AND I'm making a weird face. Boo!
If you sew elastic ribbon on the inside of your headband it won't slip. velvet side down, it lasts for hours without needing it be adjusted. It is kinda hard to find elastic velvet but I found a great shop online http://www.hairbowcenter.com/Elastic-Ribbon-C100.aspx
It will change your world, promise.
Beautiful! I can't wait to try this!
Never though this hairstyle was sooo easy to do. I don't have a hairfringe as you, but I think I would find the way to look as good as you do with this technique. Thank you for sharing!!
Very cute. I'm trying to envision it in my hair without bangs.
@Katie@Nikë SamoI did it yesterday without bangs. Just posted a new pic in this post for reference.
@Sam AdamsThat's a GREAT idea! Thanks!
Kathleen,
I remember you posting a link to a video of this look a long while back. I do it every now and again and people love my resulting waves. Too much of a romantic look on its' own for me but it looks very nice on you!

Can we discuss where your top is from? I love it!
that method works great at curling hair too btw ;-) if you sleep with it like that HEHE. Love your bangs btw, i have bangs like it and debate all the time to grow them out, its so hard to tho! i like bangs and i dont, you know? glad to see someone else rocking them beautifully ;-)
I've done this look for the past few days, and on my last shift at Starbucks probably 15 people commented on how beautiful my hair was. 5 of those said I looked like a princess. Hahah! Thanks for the ego boost! Can't wait to see more!
Loved the tutorial!
I have bangs similar to yours and can never get them out of the way neatly! How did you do that for your pictures?
@Kimberly FasoneWater, hairspray. Nothing special. But in the past I've also used things like pomade, just rubbed my fingers in the pomade and rubbed my fingers on my hair. I didn't take anymore than just a smear. Anything more and it looks like you just took a grease bath.
But honestly, I think the water and hairspray worked best. I just sprayed with water and patted down then sprayed hairspray.
Hope that helps!
Love it! I am always in need of something quick to do with my hair on those bad hair days. Thanks for the cool video tutorial. It was great!

I ADORE this hairstyle---it's now my go-to for spring/summer. Gets my long hair off my back (it's hot here in Austin!), and gives me lovely ringlets when I take it out. All my girl piano students love it too and ask me how to do it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
