I'm not an excellent braider at all, but am slowly learning. I've successfully used this tutorial http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/braids/dutch-flower-braid-updo-hairstyles/ for a flower braid in the back of the head (mine had less "S" curve to it tho). The flower part is the easiest part of it all! good luck!
