To do this project you need very little. An old pair of shoes, a foam paint brush, glue and of course Tulip Glitter- at least two vials worth. These shoes were creased and therefore work well for a glitter project. The creases will be nicely hid by the glitter.
Step 1: Brush on the glue using your foam paint brush. Get all the nooks and crannies. I didn't add glitter to the heels so if you also like the way that looks leave them untouched. Plus, it makes it easier to hold your shoe while your painting on glue.
Step 2: Dust on the glitter. I dusted the glitter onto the shoe and then moved the shoe around so that the glitter fell onto more places where the glue was. Then I took the glitter that fell onto my white board and pinched it onto the spaces I missed. All together I only used two vials of gold glitter and I was able to put 3/4ths of a vial back in the container once I was done.
Step 3: Set aside to dry. (Optional) Later if you want to reinforce the glitter to the shoe you can spray with clear lacquer but this WILL diminish the shimmer a bit. You could also try a second coat of clear glue over the dried glitter. That might work better but I haven't tried it. Clear nail polish would probably work best but that's a lot of nail polish to be coating anything with. Perhaps something akin to nail polish?
Lastly add some new shoe laces. I did a tutorial on DIY laces. Something black and sheer looks nice. I used cream and airy.

Love the idea of these but hate the idea of leaving a glitter trail! I would think since you want the shoes to be flexible you'd want something that wouldn't chip off as a clear coat. Seems like the lacquer or the nail polish would chip and crack. Hmmm, this needs some thinking...

These are stunning.
It's great, but you could save a lot more glitter if you;
1. Put a similar colour underneath first.
2. Put your shoes on a sheet of newspaper when glittering, then you can pour all the loose stuff back in the bottle!
