Stenciled Jeans with Handmade Charlotte

March 21, 2013

I love swiss dots. They're just so classic and preppy. I used Handmade Charlotte stencils to make these gold swiss dot pink pants and you can too. It was so easy and only took about 30 minutes once I had all my supplies!

You can do this with a shirt too! I think a cream sheer peter pan collared blouse with these gold dots would look gorgeous.

Supplies used:

Gold Plaid Paint
Plaid Sponges
Handmade Charlotte stencil
Spray on low tack glue

Step 1:
Lay your pants out flat.

Step 2:
Take your glue and spray it on the back of the stencil. Let dry for 10 minutes.

Step 3:
Press your stencil on your pants so that there are no air bubbles underneath.

Step 4:

Take your sponge and dab the gold paint onto your stencil.

Step 5:
Remove your stencil.

Step 6:
If there was any seepage try to wipe dry from the back of the stencil. Then move underneath your previous work and press the stencil down again with a dry sponge until all the air bubbles are gone and repeat with your paint.

Step 7:
After about three applications you might want to reapply the spray glue if your tack is getting low.

Step 8:
DONE!

I LOVE these! Exactly what kind of paint was it? Was it the FolkArt fabric paint that Plaid makes? How did it wear on jeans? Can you wash them without washing it off?

I LOVE these! I'm totally going to try it! But what kind of paint did you use exactly? Is it the FolkArt fabric paint that Plaid makes? How does that wear? Are the jeans washable, or do the dots start coming off?
