So, check out this new nursing cover style. What I like about it is that it looks like it might be a shirt. Just keep it in your bag and pop it over your head when your read to use. The retail value is $79.99 and can be purchased from Oslo but this is beyond easy to DIY. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO SEW as long as you use a knit material that doesn't unravel. Get pictorial my how-to below! You can adjust measurements based on your body. The pattern below was estimated using my frame. I'm 5'1" and 105 lbs. HECK, I'd make this for a friend's baby shower and it would only cost five minutes of my time. You could even get fancy and use an opaque silk embroidered fabric instead and hem the raw edges.

This is a great idea but as I have a DRIA Cover I have to disagree with you on one point. I love the idea of making it yourself but DRIA uses 100% organic modal fabric that is super, super soft and my baby loves it :)
@SocrakeysAwww. I bet. That sounds really comfy! No diss on DRIA intended. If you can afford to then I definitely recommend buying it from them:-)
I want to make this into a shirt. Any ideas on sewing up the sides for sleeves?
@Bonnie Roberts
agreed with you

So, if you wanted to make this for a larger person (I'm 5'6" and pretty chunky after baby :)).....what dimension would you increase? Would you need to find something that was more than 52"? Or get more than 1 yard? Thanks!
It is a very nice post. thanks for sharing!
