Looking for a rich tasteful drink recipe to serve your holiday guests this season? Look no further. This Sutter Home red wine cocoa recipe is just the thing to keep things festive and cozy at your next gathering or even just in your PJs on the sofa in front of a warm fire.
And what I love about this wine recipe is that it's totally affordable! We're not talking about a $20 cup of cocoa. Using Sutter Home wine, you can probably make servings for a party of 12 for only $6-$10!
This recipe is best used with a red wine. You could try a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sweet Red or Pinot Noir. The sweetness or dryness is up to you depending on your taste. For my recipe I used Sutter Home's Sweet Red wine, cause I like my drinks SWEET! Whenever I have to buy wine for a gathering I look for Sutter Home. I love that it's affordable and tastes yummy!

Ingredients
1 tbs cocoa powder
1 1/4 tbs sugar
1/4 c. red wine
1 c. almond or coconut milk
Splash of vanilla
dash of cinnamon

Instructions:
Combine your ingredients in a saucepan (except for the red wine) and bring to a boil. The reason I recommend coconut or almond milk instead of milk is because milk and wine don't mix and can curdle. Using a milk substitute is a simple way to avoid that.
Once your ingredients are combined and hot turn off your heat and let sit for a minute. Then add your red wine.
Pour and enjoy!
