- A blog by an artsy craftsy, penny pinching, party planning, playdating, fashion finding, sci-fi loving, stay at home mommy who always keeps her sewing machine plugged in and loves all things cute!
I sewed a lot of my own clothes in college just because I was short on money and really longed for some things I could not afford (hence my stint with abercrombie and fitch but that's another story). Then for a couple years after college I sort of stopped sewing clothes and mostly stuck to curtains, slipcovers and Halloween costumes. Then around January, I was having coffee with a friend who asked if I sewed. I had been reading a couple sewing blogs and all of sudden I just had this surge of inspiration. I said, yes, I do....and after that I went home and actually started *really* sewing again. Only this time, for my girls, which is so much more rewarding for me. I started this blog to journal my work and the rest is history.

I love this! You are adorable.
love the description you've done of yourself. The Sci-Fi loving part is an unexpected tid-bit...Made me think "me too!"
Fabulous stuff! I love your blogs and the dresses are gorgeous.
I hope you're getting my links and I'm entered. I, like all the others, am just so impressed and entranced by your creations; I just GOTTA win!
May I also add that in addition to your clothing creations, your website is so very cool and unique! You just got it all covered!
You are an amazing talent. Extremely cool. My daughter can only dream of having a mom who can make her dresses like this. I will check back to see what delicious frock you dream up next.
i'd love to hear your AF story - I had a stint with them after college too. your daughters are adorable and so are you!
Just curious... do you take the photographs on your blog? Such cute children's fashion photography!

You are so freakin' cute. I love your random pictures down the side. I just posted on your costume give-a-way and I had to read more about you. You are amazing. It makes me want to REALLY try to sew, not just pretend. :O)
Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi
I just discovered your blog on Today's Creative Blog and had to find out who you are. Now I know, a talented artist who is also VERY generous. I didn't enter to win "Marie" because my son Fred is 22 years old.I'll be back to visit often, and perhaps, one day, I'll get my mom's old Singer out of the closet!
I just learned about your blog today and read your profile. You are living my dream! It was like looking in the mirror! Soon I too can be a stay at home crafty mommy and I am so excited for that day to come!! Your blog brings me encouragement and your work is very inspiring. Thank you!
Hi, Kathleen,
Your work is fantastic! I actually said "whoa!" out loud when I stumbled across your blog, and that doesn't happen often! I think it appeals to me so much because you do with fabric what I do with paint (sort of...and with animals). We also both happen to be married to Brians, and were born in July of '78 among other things! Anyway, my website is http://www.hannaheharrison.com if you want to take a peek! And thanks for posting your favorite links--I've found them to be inspiring as well!
Hey there! I just came across your blog after noticing you link to my Wardrobe Refashion site. I'm one half of Mixtape Zine and would love to feature you in there in some way in the new year if you are interested. Maybe a Mommy profile and we could do a little giveaway with you?
Email me if you are interested.

hey! how do i follow your blog? i can't find the place where you usually follow blogs....
Hey Lady.. Loving your cute things lately... would you be willing to let me borrow clothing for shoots? Would you be interested in collaborating? Or are you going to make it to SF anytime? :) You're doing such wonderful work.
Such beautiful work and inspiration, I have linked you and hope that many others will see your work!
You have an amazing mom to come and help you with the children while you create such lovely clothing, photos, and digital design. I send her my thanks. Most of us can only dream of moms like that... I hope to be that kind of mom to my girls when they have kids of their own! Thanks for the inspirations.
Lovely blog whit nice pictures and good work!
I love everything you do. You are fantastic!!!! Well, one of my best friends and I watched Labyrinth about a thousand times (o.k. maybe I'm exaggerating, but not by much) and we sang 'You remind me of the Babe' all the time. We had most of the words to the movie memorized. Haven't seen (or even thought about it) in years. Now I guess I'm going to have to go rent it too.
you don't know how much I love your blog! I just had to award you!!! www.mismikadodowntheaisle.wordpress.com

Hi,
I've been enjoying your site for a while, and you inspire me to make more than curtains, Halloween costumes and pj's too! I found a site that I think you would love. Maybe you could get them to do a giveaway? If nothing else, it will inspire you! Enjoy.

have a wondeful day!
Hi. I just heard about this site from a friend. Saw your art work of clothes you made. Which was awsome. I have a sewing machine, but all i can do are blankets and possibly baby outfits. I did the same as you. I learned in Jr. high school and then messed around with my mothers in high school. But I haven't sewn a whole lot right now. We just moved into our house in July so I am still trying to organize the house. But I managed to finish a blanket that I call my camp quilt. Which isn't perfect, but I put time into and am proud of my completion. I love your work.
I just stumbled upon your blog this morning, and I really think you make wonderful stuff. I love the refashioned wedding frock you made. Something like that is what I'm looking for for my wedding. I looked for a link to your shop on the site, but couldn't find one. Do you sell online?
Your stuff are wonderful! I am impressed! Thank you for a such mood!
