Sorry for all the fall leave shoots. Doing a sweater everyday takes up more time than making a dress per week so I have far less time to plan and travel to another location. BUT isn't it the best time of year to have to photograph outdoors?! I lucked out.
To make this sweater I cut up the faux undershirt and sewed the pieces into one long strip then gathered it at the sides and middle then sewed it to the shirt. I also added these really neat frog enclosures at the front. They are wire encased in navy woven nylon rope. Just the right finishing touch.
1. First I cut out the faux undershirt.
2. Then I took that piece and cut it into 4" wide strips.
3. I then sewed the strips together. To make one long strip.
4. I then gathered the right side.
5. Then I gathered the left side.
6. Then I gathered the middle.
7. I pinned it to the sweater.
8. And sewed it on either side of the ruffle.
9. Then I sewed the frogs on.

oooh, pretty! I think this one is my favorite so far!
Love your new project. Adorable!
I wish I had more time to invest in new projects, maybe at spring time!!
That is seriously cute! Love the frog closures. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for one of these double sweaters!
I'm loving your sweater refashions. I can't believe you're knocking them out so fast. I will be tackling some of my projects starting this week and I definitely want to do some sweaters now. Thank you and keep 'em coming. :)
Wow, I can't keep up. Another amazing sweater. I like the frogs. I also like all the photos you have been taking outside. Looks like you live in a very beautiful place.
Umm...hold on a second. I'm going to need a close-up of those super cute shoes.

Wow--I'm pretty new to sewing. So scared to try any of your projects! You make everything look so easy. Or is that sew easy?!
Wow! This is my favorite so far. The before to after transformation are miles apart, stylewise. So glad you're sharing all these ideas this month!!!
LOVE that! It's got a "marching band" vibe that's so fun!
I'm in love with this series! I can't wait until the holiday season slows down for me so I can sew some sweaters for myself! Good thing I live in Wisconsin and we have cold weather until March :) Thank you!
Kathleen....can I just buy it off you?!? Mine don't seem to turn out as wonderful as yours! I love it! Putting a new project on my list...
Love this sweater. The frog closure looks amazing with it. Another wonderful refashion.

You seriously have vision!
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
I look forward to your posts everyday. I really wish I was this talented to even transform one sweater. Everything is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
This one is beautiful! Very creative, I think it's my favorite one that you've done so far!
I love this Kathleen, it would look super expensive if you used a sheer or silky material for the embellishment. Can't wait to try this, my favorite so far!
Everything you've done is so amazing! I am totally impressed with each and every one of these transformations. They are beautiful!
So cute! This is such a great idea. I get sooo excited to check your blog every day!
My favorite so far!
These have all been so fabulous! Don't apologize for the leaf pics, I think they're great. I am curious about one thing though...would you recommend dry cleaning or do you think they would hold up in the wash? I say "they" but I know it depends upon each sweater and how you've embellished it. I guess I'm asking about this one in particular because of the two sides of the new gathered front.
Beautiful! Great job!!!

I just can't even handle the creativity! I teach a crafts class at a junior high and showed my girls your website today. They were positively drooling over your sweaters!I think a few are going to be trying some refashions. I know I am! Thanks for sharing your amazing ideas.
Are you going to sell any of these sweaters? I think we look about the same size...
Definitely my favorite! I am in awe that you could look at that before sweater and come up with that gorgeous after! Wow! Brilliant!
I am so thankful to you for this challenge!!!
Soooo inspiring!!
it is just amazing!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
totally taken aback! it's so much fun that I can't focus on the details, it's just one whole piece! the stripes give it a sporty flair, the front elements seem like a victorian trip in time and a chinese trip in space;) or at least it makes me think abt those... and all that with knits, wow, congrats!
Every time you use frog closures, I adore them. I'm going to have to put something together with the things.
I have loved all of them but this might be my very favorite ever!
That is a fantastic transformation. Nicely done! Love the matching blue tights. =D
Oh my laws, definitely my favorite one so far! I absolutely adore this!
oh my god! i love it!
This is amazing! Where do you get all your ideas from? Did you do lots of research before you started the month? It would take me forever to even get the right idea for each piece!
I just want to thank you for sharing all your wonderful info! I never though you could take in a sweater or turn a pullover into a cardigan!
I've learned how to do both thanks to you.
You're a great teacher!
This one is my favorite! Hmmm.. I am going to another rummage sale tomorrow and now I have some great ideas from you. Thank you so much!

Hi,
Awesome sweater! I agree with all the comments: I can't wait to try this.
Did you resize this sweater too? Do you resize all of them? Do you resize the arms too, or just the waist?
