I have loved this theme! It has been so much fun not to mention rewarding to my wardrobe which was seriously lacking in the sweater department.
Part of me thought it would be sort of cool to do another month of makeover skirts or pants or dresses. But I have to admit that I do miss sewing from scratch and the thrill of designing something of your own. Dresses mainly. Dresses are my passion. Part of me is torn between that and embellishing. It's fun to have such an immediate reward for little work.
Let's recall my top 5 favorites from the past month!
Okay by overall favorite was Day 17. It was cute, whimsical and flattering to my shape. The balloon also rocked! Brian's youngest sister just got engaged and has asked ME to take her engagement photos! How flattering! So aside from being totally nervous I plan on using one of these 3' balloons. Anyone else have any suggestions? Our biggest obsticle will be the blah weather. Althooooough the forecast is saying it might snow which would be IDEAL!
Ahh my second favorite Day 14. I wore this all around town and felt so interesting in it. The orange and blue were a great combination of colors!
And I know you just saw it yesterday but I loved the floaty feel of Day 30. I knew I would the moment I started cutting the chiffon. It's such a lovely fabric to wear.
Day 8. Looked even cuter in person. It was so soft and comfy and warm I couldn't help but wear it all week. To pick Lily up from school, to dental appointments to the fabric store....
And finally Day 3! It was right around the time the leaves were starting to change and everything felt autumnal. Boots were most appropriate and paired with this plaid wool skirt sewn on the bias I LOVED the overall look of this embellishment. It was one of the first outfits that really felt 'put together' for me.
Okay I couldn't help but mention one more. Day 9 was definitely one of my favorites too. The plum hue of the flower and the gathered ribs of the remake all looked pleasing to my eye. I wore this to a couple girl scout meetings, the movie's and Brian's parent's house.
I spent so little on these cardigans. I like to think that even if you don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive outfits, you don't have to be resigned to boring 'mom' clothes.
So there you have it! What were your favorites?
And don't forget to return for more EKM weekly! And if you ever want to peruse new and old Embellish Knits, the sidebar will always have a link to all of them.

These posts were so inspiring! I really loved it. I'm working on my own version of day 19 right this second! Thank you so much for all of these gorgeous and affordable knits. I love my cardigans but they can be pretty boring sometimes so I can't wait to make time to do more of these!
Hi! I am a new reader and follower. I don't have a favorite yet, I'll have to see them all to tell you. But it seems it was a very inspirational month.
Congratulations on your blog!
My current hobby!
You did such a wonderful job!!! So inspiring! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!
you have done a incredibly creative work this month
Thanks for all your great posts
thanks for sharing all of your tips & ideas !!!
I enjoyed this so much. Thank you for all the work and time you put into them. Hopefully I will find a thrift store that is actually cheap and be able to attempt some myself. I think you should get a book deal for these, seriously!
My favorite was the bee sweater by far, I about died when I saw that one. :)
Loved this theme--so many great ideas I can't wait to try! My hands down favorite was day 15, and I also really loved days 21 and 30.
What an amazing gift you have and how sweet and generous you are to share it with us. I have a stash of tired, ill fit garments just waiting for a new life. I am hoping to put some life into them over vacation... Thanks for sharing!
I posted my favorites (albeit a bit early) here: http://corvustristis.wordpress.com/2010/12/02/grosgrains-embellished-knit-month/
I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed these posts... you are so talented and I am still encouraged to try some of these tricks myself! My top 3 favs are: 1. Day 30 - So elegant!! I would wear this to a wedding or some other special lunch or dinner event. 2. Day 14. I am a sucker for the color palette and the shorty bolero look.... hands down have to love it. 3. Day 9 - I too love the color combo and the ease of the sweater while being right on trend. With the style of the flower - I couldn't say "no"! :) Thanks for sharing your talents with us! gdo-family.blogspot.com
Day 24 was my favorite! But you are so very talented & they all are beautiful!

Idea. You could do a thing where you embellish old(er) pieces of clothing you made but don't wear anymore. Or something like that. Sounds better in my head.
Well I've made versions of day 10 and day 15, which I love, so there are high on my list. I thought days 14, 17, 20 and 27 were all unbearably clever, and I love love love the peplum. I love the WORD peplum. I also LOVED day 21, I loved it when I first saw it and fell in love all over again when you re-posted it. Thank you so much for doing this, for committing to this and following through. It's like the sewing version of Susan Lori Park's 365 Days/365 plays.
i would love it if you did the same thing with skirts or pants or both! as someone who isn't nearly as skilled as you in sewing, it is do-able to think about embellishing someone else's work rather than attempting to start from scratch. please post more cardigans (my favorite article of clothing) and more embellishing period.
you are such an inspiration
You are so talented and inspiring! Thank you for sharing all of your work! My favorite is day 21 and 28, I want to make those and other when I find the right cardigan. Thrifting is really popular in Phoenix so it is hard to find something wearable and cheap, even at the Goodwills. Anyway, thank you so much <3!
Thank you so much for taking the time to embellish all these knits. I really enjoyed this and will be checking back on instructions for a long time to come. I plan to do the Kate Spade Bee sweater.
You're awesome! Thank you for making it soo easy to reference back and find things we love on your site. Honest to goodness, I wish I had your sewing skills! How long have you been sewing anyway? (if you say like 2 years, I'll just DIE!)
I'm SO glad you are keeping this feature! It is absolutely my favorite (seeing as I named my blog after my love for cardigans..)
My favorite is number 8!
GREAT NEWS: WEEKLY EKM!
SOO Ä°NSPÄ°RÄ°NG!
THANK YOU KATHLEEN!
YOU ARE AMAZÄ°NG, HARDWORKÄ°NG AND SMART MOM....
Day 30 is by far my favorite. Congrats on this wonderful work !
You have given me so many ideas and the confidence to give experimenting with knits a go. Thank you! Now I just have to find time to get to the thrift store.
Thank you for EKM - I enjoyed it so much. My favorite was Day 7 - I loved the use of fabric and moving the bottom band to the waist. When he comes to visit for Christmas, my brother is bringing me a big bag of his old clothes, and I happen to know that there are several large black crewnecks in there. Can't wait to get started!
I enjoyed following you all through Embellished Knit Month, you have inspired me in more ways than one. thanks.
Day 8, for sure. A long sweater can look frumpy and you managed to turn it into something so lovely! I loved following this theme - you are so creative. Thanks!
LOVED day 12--hooked me on your site! :)
Day 7, 20 and 21 were my all time fav's although I loved many others as well. Thank you for doing this and inspiring others to spice up our wardrobe at very little cost. You're fab!
I've really enjoyed following your creations during EKM! :) Can't wait to see what is next!
loved embellish month. liked the red stripey one with the yellow belt best. here is a link to some fun ideas for wedding and couples photography http://www.becplusfo.com.au/index2.php?v=v1#/gallery2/1/
Kathleen...you know I loved everything! You really inspired me (and now my family and friends seeing my new lovelies) and I've had so much fun working on the new little additions to my closet! I wanted to thank you for helping me find trim for Day 1...I bought the trim you found from etsy and it was just PERFECT! I wore my new sweater to my family Christmas Eve dinner and I felt so pretty! Thanks again! I will be coming back to visit everyday so no worries...
I just wanted to thank you for this inspiring month -- I love knits and cardigans especially and I just loved seeing how creative and fearless and lovely all of your creations came out :)
Wilson Family,
I'm so glad I could help!
Your "H" sweater came out D-A-R-L-I-N-G!!!!
Did you make another one for christmas with the etsy trim? I liked a lot of those trims too! Was it the scalloped one? That was my favorite.
Thank you for enjoying the posts! It totally makes it worth the work.
This was such a fun month to follow along. My top five were Days 7, 20, 5, 17, 12
Wow, I have missed a LOT! They look fabulous Kathleen - and can I say, how fab are you looking mother of 3 :-)
oh man, you've got some fab clothes.
These are all so gorgeous, but I could NEVER do that! I'm just not that creative, nor that good of a seam"stress". I love Day 9! Are you going to be giving any of them away???
;D
