For the rest of this week I plan on offering a glimpse into a new series I plan on offering next month. That is: individual patterns to use for thrift store refashions.
The series will be called: "From Semi-Scratch Sewing": Using small patterns to transform your wardrobe.
I will be taking a thrift store find and using a new sleeve or collar or skirt pattern I've designed to transform the piece into something new and amazing and I will be offering that pattern in PDF for you to use yourself.
I really like the concept of taking an already sewn piece because it's a great way for beginners to start in their sewing journey without feeling overwhelmed. AND it's a great way to have a new piece in a much shorter time than sewing from scratch.
I hope you'll join me!

I absolutely love your monthly sewing adventures... thank you for being so creative and inspiring your readers to do the same!
This is exactly what I have needing! Yay!!
This sounds fabulous and all these embellishments are just adorable! I'm especially looking forward to the pattern for the pink tulip-like sleeves pictured. I'm always a total sucker for them. Can't wait :)
I'm refurbishing about half my wardrobe this summer! This will be exciting!
I'm patiently waiting...from Italy
grazie!

I'm excited it sounds great and your month of Free Patterns has been really interesting!
Hi! I've been trying to subscribe to your blog, but the link that was provided doesn't work. Could you provide another link? Thank you for all your hard work and awesome posts. I'm so thrilled to have found you!
I can finally comment on this!!! I cannot wait for this- super inspiring as usual. I've already eyed up the black and white sailor collar :-)
Fabulous! I absolutely love this idea and can't wait! I'm especially looking forward to the tutorial for the tulip-like sleeves pictured in pink. Every time I see these on a garment I fall in love. Looking forward to it :)
Semi scratch sewing is good for those who want to give machine sewing a shot...but are afraid of fabric stores (really it's true). These are the types who will readily dive into closets and thrift stores...but have to be dragged into a Jo-Ann's or Hancock's.
I'm really looking forward to this - what a great idea!
I'm so excited for this! I've really been wanting to revamp my wardrobe, and this will be great inspiration for that!
I haven't done much sewing lately since I moved into a new place. But now that my sewing station is set up and everything is put away, I really want to get back to sewing. This is such a great idea, especially when your on budget.
I'm so excited about this idea. I was just talking to a friend of mine about teaching her to sew by altering thrift store finds. This will be great! I can't wait.
I don't get it, when will this project start? I'm so anxious, and at first I thought the month would be June... How long do we have to wait? :)
Was this series done under a different name, or just never done?
I've looked all through the archives, unless only "featured" posts get listed there. Yet I'd think these would have been featured. I'd really like to read these. Please tell me the link.
