I have to say that is pretty darn sexy!
While the pic is pretty with the very curvy skirt, the same idea can be used to create an a-line, a gathered or pleated skirt. All you need is a larger t-shirt!
So did, you just the cut the 2 t-shirts and then sewed them in that pattern? What about around the waist? What did you do there? Thinkin bout doing this and wanted to make sure I did it right.

I made one out of a black t-shirt and a pink one. Turned out awesome! the waiste was a little loose cause I didn't know what to do with that, so I just put on a big black belt :) thx!
