That is such an awesome idea.. I would have loved it when I was a kid, in fact, I'd love it as an adult too!
Awe! It would be so magical for her to wake up to that. I think you should definitely do it (and maybe share a photo?) :)
Would LOVE to see some photos if you do this for your daughter!!! I've got another 11 months to wait until I can give it a try!

I think that is a wonderful idea and so cute. I wish I had someone I could do that for. I'm sure she will love it.
Oh my goodness! How special would that make waking up on your birthday? Do it!
My parents started a tradition where they bought a helium balloon and tied it to the birthday girl's chair at the dinner table. It was a nice way to be greeted for breakfast on your birthday! We would always leave them tied to the chair after the birthday, and see how long it would stay floating before mom told us we had to cut it down.
My daughter would love this but she ends up in our bed so not sure if it would work for us
