Summer's End Frock Grosgrain Giveaway + Upcoming Pattern

Well, it's "unofficial" end of summer:-( I have to admit, I'm really bummed about it. I read a Facebook quip recently about "getting ready for fall" listing all the things that make fall great: bonfires, falling leaves, the crisp autumn feeling, pumpkins.....etc. and all those things sounded great to me, they really did....but not as great as walking out to your car without a coat, swimming in a lake, eating lunch outside on a deck, boat rides in your bathing suit....etc. I'm really going to miss summer:-( So I made the "Summer's End" frock (in Ikat Floral) for a giveaway/free pattern. It's definitely a summer dress but there's still enough warm weather to enjoy it!

I'll be offering the pattern next week. It's sort of like this modcloth dress that I bought earlier in the summer but it has a scoop neck and a drawstring waist. Also, the sleeves are slightly gathered along the armline and it's shorter but if you made it for yourself you could make it whatever length you wanted.

I wouldn't wear this to work or anything;-) But that's not what summer's all about, right?! I'd wear this to a summer evening party or going out to a nice dinner with the husband or jumping on a trampoline (JK, just seeing if you were listening;-P)
