I would love to try to replicate this Ralph Lauren bag sometime. Buy a cheap thrift store leather purse. Outline a design on it with disappearing ink. Then use a sharp exacto knife and cut out the negative space. Work with one or two telephone books sandwiched in between. Obviously you'd have to sew a contrasting liner or things would be falling out but that should not be too hard- just three rectangle pieces. You would also need some skill with a knife and your freehand drawing. But wouldn't this make a great gift if you monogrammed it? Definitely a discussion accessory;-)
